Hi, Chilli and Alice and Dom and everyone.....

Do you lie on your back like I've seen caiques and conures doing, and as Angel's owner just told us she does? I'm curious because my girl likes to stay on her legs.

Thanks.

Alice - Galah cockatoo
Alice will occasionally roll onto her back but she expects me to offer a finger then lift her up into the air so she can do the galah upside down flappy shrieky thing. Quite why she does it this way rather than from the top of the cage like normal birds is beyond me but it's quite entertaining...

Oh, those photos of Chili are priceless. WHAT sort of position is she in in that first one? :D

If you've got servants to act as your gymnastics bar, why would you use your cage? :D

Dommie doesn't lie on his back because I doubt he'd be able to right himself to get up (he has very large abdominal tumours). He does love to rummage about in a fold of material or pile of washing, though. It must feel good to him. :)

or pile of washing,
Oh, I hope she doesn't find the washing. It's bad enough when one of the cats finds some that hasn't been put away and sits on it. Rewashing stuff is even less fun that washing it once.

Has she got her wing held up like the Phantom of the Opera's cape? She just looks really contorted.

Lol! Yes! She's the Phantom [emoji41] buah hahaha!

When she wrestles with things she brings her wings up like that- like she's using them to hold the object or keep it from escaping.

I wish my girl would just roll about not destroying stuff. It's that beak, she's always nibbling in everything..... :D

Sometimes Flower will flip over onto her back, but she really has to be in a particularly crazy, playful mood. She only started doing it a few months ago. She will also let us flip her over and hold her when she's in a really GOOD and calm mood, but most of the time she'll get huffy about it.

Thanks, it doesn't seem like it's one of their major "things" like some of the other types, although even all yours seem to do it more than my girl. All of her "fun" seems focused on her mouth. chomp chomp chomp
