So Rosa has this thing. Lol When she's resting she pulls one foot up into her chest, and grabs the (few) feathers there. She actually holds onto them and often sleeps like this. I haven't been able to get a photo of it as she gets excited and puts her foot down. She will also rest with one foot just gently tucked into her body, as is the norm for a contented bird. This is different. She's obviously completely relaxed but I wondered if it was a Rosa-ism or is fairly common.:white1::D

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
Lila often sleeps with her head down, and her beak resting on her foot.

We call her "THE THINKER."

That's the cutest mental picture! :D too funny. I love that Rosa is quirky! And apparently Lila too!

That sounds super cute. I've never seen a bird doing that before, but maybe it makes Rosa feel comforted while she sleeps:) I hope you can get a pic to share.

Here's my Rosa McQuirkybird doing her weirdo thing. I managed to quickly snap this as soon as I uncovered her for the day. She's a little bit surprised I think, wondering how the blanket disappeared so quick! :p

Rosa is a beauty!!

Many birds have cute and unique mannerisms, just another reason we love them so much!!

Rocky does this. Tucks his foot up under his wing and kind of props it between wing and body, only he does it with his right foot. Usually what he's holding onto is the wing instead of his body.

Willow will do this, (fall asleep while scratching/holding her wing) and will also do the same while scratching around her beak, lol, it's funny to see.
