In two days (this Friday), we'll be welcoming another galah cockatoo into our flock! She's been well taken care of and extremely well loved- just certain life situations happen.

Chili and Flower have visited each other twice so far, and they don't particularly care for each other but thankfully they haven't tried to kill each other lol

Friday we'll be going and picking her up along with her ginormous cage that has a divider which will house both of them. Hopefully some day they'll be friends and we won't need the divider....I don't have super high expectations and I realize they may never be friends.....but we'll see!

This cage is so huge I'll have to take down chili's suspended grapewood gym and figure out something else....

Chili's current cage will also be put to good use~ on Sunday, Amanda will be picking it up to house her new found friend Mr Quaker until she can get a new cage.

So this weekend will be a busy one!!!!!

Here are some pictures from when flower came over to visit a few weeks ago:

Yay!! :D I think this was a great idea! Flower is gorgeous (just like Chili) :)! Do they have the same coloring, or are they a different subspecies (some are brighter, some softer pink). If they're the same, it'll be like identifying identical twins!

I believe they're the same subspecies ~flower weighs more, so we'll have to implement some exercise routines....but right now it's easy to tell who's who- flower has a band and chili doesn't....plus chili still has her juvenile pink feathers with the grey scalloping since she's only 2

Today is prep day!! I have to take down chilis hanging grapewood gym and dismantle it until I figure out something else to do with the branches. I'm thinking of adding them to the top of the behemoth cage when I've got it set up so they'll have a huge play top area...we'll see.

Next on our "wish list" is to make the area just outside our sliding glass door an enclosed aviary for them --but that's later down the road

I'm soooooo excited I get to visit them on Sunday! Chili was so fun last time I visited...now it will be double trouble fun! :D

And loaning me chili's cage is so appreciated! Now I can spend money on the vet and plan for the cage I really want instead of just getting a bigger cage because he HAS to have something now to get him out of the tiny cage he is in. :D

Double trouble might be an understatement, but we'll see LOL

No problem!!!! I love being able to help out, and I know how spendy cages can be [emoji51] let me know if you need any perches to go with it, I'd be happy to whip some up for you-- text me and we'll talk about it [emoji4]
