The Morning Squawk

My other parrots (two Quakers, two tiels and a budgie) all have a group squawk a couple of times a day. Rocky 'Too has a squawking fit a couple of times a day (different from the others' schedule) but almost NEVER in the morning. He's a very considerate 'Too usually, and will be quiet in the morning until we get up, and doesn't do a big squawk until much later in the day. This morning, he got up squawking and was still squawking (with breaks to rest, LOL) when I left for work.

What the heck?

I moved the sheet that we cover him with at night and hang over a cage corner during the day (so he has a hideout, he likes a hideout). He seemed to be looking at it while squawking. No, that wasn't it. He wanted it BACK. NOW. Okay, fine. We put it back. I changed his food because his favorite colors were gone and only the Evil Orange and Yellow pellets were left. (I should note that two weeks ago, orange and yellow were his favorites) No, he didn't want food. I gave him treats. He threw them on the floor. We petted. I held him for a while. No and no. He accepted the petting and the holding, but that wasn't what he wanted.

We told him we don't make so much noise in the morning in our house, because Mommy and Daddy aren't morning people and hadn't had their coffee yet. He did not care. Our dog, Jack, was giving me these looks like "Make it STOP!"

My only hope is that he will get all squawking out of his system and will have a quiet evening.
