Amy a Blue Front 'Zon
Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
..and all of a sudden! I think I know why. My friend Arleen <Jonesy's Aunty> is now my girl friend :D and she has been slowly moving into the house with me and my son James, and Amy and Jones.

The Cockatoo Man and Arleen have known each other for years. I adopted Jonesy from her brother. And Jonesy just loves her to pieces..He has no problem coming to her and being scratched and loved. His attitude towards me has changed towards the better also. If we are on the couch watching tv Jonesy will hop from his roof top to the near by recliner, then to the couch arm then onto my chest..and boy this guy can HOP :p

He snuggles under my chin now and when I scratch his head he just about breaks his neck turning this way and that.

Amy isen't liking it too much though :( She goes back into her house then glares at us,and she isnt too fond of Arleen either, but Arleen isen't giving up.
I need to spend more one on one with Amy..right now she is on the back of my chair eating a piece of my sammich  I cant let her beak get out of joint.

Glad to hear Jonesy is becoming friendlier and accepts Arleen with love! Goffins can be temperamental, but in my experience they are definitely not one-person birds. They'll gladly cuddle with anybody they like. And yes, they can hop!!

But you don't want to alienate Amy, so give her plenty of one-on-one time. If I recall, her relationship with Jonesy is decent but not close; you don't want her see Jonesy as her arch-villain!

You are right Scott. After Smokey passed,Amy was an "only bird" for awhile until Jonesy arrived, and I could tell Amy was heart broken with Smokeys passing.

Amy and I are very bonded. I can do anything with her but even with James, she gets cranky with him,and he just kind of leaves her be.

This summer <where did it go??> Amy and I went out together. She always loves "out side...in the car??" lol that's what she'll ask me,and we go to the donut factory < Dunkin Donuts> or even into some stores and she is very good with people. I can tell she enjoys these outings and I am going to continue doing them.

This morning, after her munching on my sammich, I took her outside, and as I sat on the front porch,I let her wander around in the grass in front of me,watching as she munched on sticks, grass, and BUGS  and she loves these times. At times I just get a little over whelmed about Jonesy being so COOL and affectionate. At least he really gets along with Arleen,so I can concentrate being one on one with Amy and neither birds will be lacking in hugs and smooches :09:

Jim, sounds as if you have a great plan for living with Jonesy and Amy. Different activities for different birds!
