Thanks for the great advice. This bit seems to have been especially good advice though.

Chris, you're in, you have a connection! Your boy is enjoying himself and he looks pretty comfortable in his new world, the guy has moves, goes well with his incredible crest.

Thank you so much for sharing, you really made me smile. I have a new favorite Too video.

How is he doing with his new and improved diet?

The way he has started diving in (especially this last week) after having a few weeks getting accustomed to the changes makes me wonder if he had ever seen fresh fruits and vegetables before. And the smell of cigarette smoke is finally starting to fade from his feathers! Not that you asked about that part, it just makes me happy :D

I'm so happy to hear Ely knows a good meal when he sees it, in the right frame of mind, a parrot can stage a pretty impressive hunger strike.

This poor bird really deserved the break you offered him. Cigerrette smoke too, unbelievable! It constantly amazes me how someone can treat a living being so badly and see nothing wrong with their actions. The nicotine will wash off, the cut feathers will be replaced, Ely will thrive. Does he like baths?

How are Confetti and Barney doing? Are the three of them calling to each other?

He wasn't a big fan of the shower perch the first couple times we tried it, but he loves getting sprayed down with the cockatoo bath spray we got him (just water and aloe).

Barney is doing great. He was never poorly treated, so he was much more open to human interaction from the beginning, just took a bit for the shyness to wear off. He is still a little nervous of the environment, but he's started flying laps in the room. He is a little grouchy right now though, molting, *lots* of pin feathers.

And yes, Him and Ely go back and forth with each other a few times every day. Confetti may add something in on the odd occasion, but mostly she just tells them to "be quiet"

Confetti is doing complicated, but good. She has been sitting on 2 eggs for the past month and some change now. We started removing them at first, (she would lay them from her perch and they would break) but she just kept laying more (11 in total) until she had 2 in good shape that we could let her keep. And as soon as that happened she stopped laying.
Of course since then almost the *only* thing she has any desire to do is sit on her eggs. We took her to the vet when she had laid about 8 to make sure she checked out, and blood/fecal/physical all came back fine. The vet still recommended we put her on Harrisons high potency just to be on the safe side with at that time, the still excessive egg laying.

She finally started paying less attention to the eggs the last few days, but she still goes right back in to mate mode when we go near her. I've been getting a ton of great advice from Terry though, so working on making some changes, especially a couple mistakes I was making that were likely promoting nesting behavior. So yeah, complicated I think is the best Adjective lol.

What an awesome video! Ely seems to be a wonderfully receptive to your parronting. Amazing how rescuing him from a difficult home quickly lifts him from a funk.

I've just been lucky to have found this place when I first got Confetti. My parronting wouldn't be a fraction of as good without all the amazing advice i've gotten from the people here either directly or through the great guides.

It's super nice of you to say so, but I just have a feeling you were an exceptional parront long before you met us. :)

I'm glad Terry was able to help with Confetti, I hope your girl is finished with her egg laying spree. I'm happy Barney is doing well too.
