2nd RB2??

Does anyone on here have 2 RB2's? I'm thinking of getting another one and wondering if a male or a female is the best option to go with my male? Any thoughts or experience shared appreciated.

yes, definitely getting another one but was just wondering whether male or female. I have a male already but was just wondering if the sex of the bird made it more likely for them to get along? Do you have 2 of them?

I do not actually own two but I do have another male to stay a fair bit throughout the year anything from a couple of nights a time to 16 nights. Plum and he are not friends really they watch each other and 'fuff' the other who may be receiving some cuddling.

It has been enough to tell me to stay with one RB2 to be honest. We have a few members on here with two, Loubie and I think Getwozzy has two so maybe have a look through their posts? Loubie introduced a male to her female if I remember correctly and he came off worse. Hope you can glean the info you require from this?

Love to hear about your RB2 and what kind of personality he has?

I always ask folks who want a second parrot what is it about your first bird that is not fulfilling your needs and wants? Or, are you expecting a second bird to make owning parrots easier? On you or the parrot?

I have seen several YouTube videos of people who own two RB2s, so along with looking for posts on this forum you might try cruising YouTube to see if you can find any advice on this. I know JamieLeigh (I think her channel is BirdTricks or something like that?) has a male and a female (Bandit and Bondai I think are their names?), but then she has something like a dozen large parrots and spends a lot of time with them. I know that a friend of mine who breeds Rosies says that, in general, she suggests to her buyers just to get one Rosie, but she never mentioned whether she would suggest male/female pairs or same sex pairs if someone were looking for a second. Good luck finding the info you're looking for!

I would echo that from experience with mine as well as the young one that visits on a regular basis. RB2's bond very strongly to one person mainly, occasionally two. This makes them a bit jealous of having to share. If you start out with two from day one that might make a difference.
