Instead of posting constant updates on the welcome thread I thought I would create a thread where I can tell you how amazing Nike is :).:grey:
The last time I posted about Nike he was flying from window to window trying to figure a way out. In just one day we have almost completely stopped the window flights, taught him to give kisses, and come when I call him (yes, he's that clever). We have only done three training sessions of about 8 minutes each.
He has really come to trust me and is really keen to learn. In fact he does his "tricks" when I dont ask him to, I think he just wants a sunflower seed though.
He did give me a bite yesterday because we were sitting on the couch with him after a training session, trying to show him that he doesn't get treats just for hanging out with us and my four year old daughter went to get a seed and I told her don't get it but she did and I was ting not to let Nike see but he did and gave me a bite. Needless to say he didn't get the seed and got put back in the cage.
I got him out again this morning and we had a cuddle, did a little "come" train then gabe him breakfast. I will try to get a video of him doing his training.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I'm so envious. You people with intelligent, clever, open-hearted, open-minded birds, improving birds!
But I'm not a hater.
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
What a wonderful story!

Fantastic! Such good news. Smart bird and wonderful owners (or who owns who?).

Yes this is typical RB2 behaviour and you did the right thing returning Nike to his cage.

It is important not to reward bad behaviour. Sounds like you are doing really well and both of you having a great time.

Thank you all for the encouragement, it means a lot to me. This morning we did a little more training and it appears someone has been working on Nike's toilet training as when he is on me and he needs to go he Flys to the coffee table to do it (luckily I have f10 in the house).
He was practically sitting on my face this morning giving me kisses to get his seed lol.
I also went and hacked the banksia tree in my garden for him.

That is why we have all joined the forums! An eagerness to share and learn makes us all better parronts!!
