Oscar likes to dance

Oscar hasn't been much of a dancer in the few days we've had him. I suppose settling in to a new place and all that will make any bird a little guarded. Yesterday I was walking around with him and went into a room where MrC was working on putting something together for me, and he was listening to music that apparently Oscar really likes. He started head bobbing immediately. It was super cute. I simply must share.

Very cute, Beatrice!! Goffins are extremely animated beyond head-bobbing. They like to hop around and twirl around in circles! My wild caught female has an "anticipation" movement where she stands in one place but rapidly and repeatedly shifts her entire body from left to right, 180 degrees.

Hilarious!!

He's starting to open up, which makes me happy. Before last night he'd just do one or two tentative head bobs and then be still again. He's a little more open when he's in/on his cage, but still guarded. I expect it will be a few more weeks yet before we see how animated he really is.

Akkk- country music! I spent 20 years playing fiddle in a country band, only to find a cockatoo that likes it !! Run Oscar, that stuff will kill ya.

Goofy likes it too. Charlotte and Leo have different taste. Leo likes death metal (teenagers!), and Charlotte likes more classical metal, 80's alternative rock (They Might Be Giants is a favorite) and Broadway show tunes. I generally run Pandora on "shuffle" mode all day between about 50 different stations to make everybody happy.

Your gonna laugh but Salty's favorite seems to be Mexican love songs. If I have to hear one more marimba , I am gonna stick an ice pick in my ears.
