I'm going to be painting the bird room, after much research this seems to be the best for birds to be around.
Does anyone know if there is a specific color that cockatoo's like?
it comes in hundreds of colors.

I would advise against anything too "bright". The last thing a trio of cockatoos need is a rich energetic color to increase their energy And avoid red. Most parrots do not like red in big doses. In nature, red is a "warning" color. I was actually doing some research into how colors in a room affect mood. Can't be sure parrots are affected in the same way as humans, but I can't see why they wouldn't be either:

I might select a pastel shade (like colors for a babies room) or neutral shade. Something calming, soothing... then add pops of color elsewhere. If they don't have a large window, consider some large inexpensive "nature" posters or large nature scene for them to look at. We actually covered the wall behind Kiwi's cage with a printed shower curtain of a jungle scene so he didn't just have to stare at nothing but beige walls (and it protects the wall/is easy to wash food off). It gives some color without the whole area being painted dark green. This company is where we got ours from:

I love the shower curtain idea, I'm def going to do that, my wife wants to go with a neutral color, like a grey or a tan

This is the link. They have literally thousands of options. They make them all to custom order, so it takes a few weeks to get. I got the "Extra Long" shower curtain length so it would go from almost the ceiling to right above the baseboard. They Zalsohave some nice tapestries and regular curtains too.

I would suggest a nice light green. My birds' room is that color, with a mural on three walls that my mother painted and they really seem to like that.
