Giving a home to a parrot is so much more than food, water and cages. They are very intelligent and need a lot from us to thrive. I struggle with only one and definitely know it when I have my friends to stay as well. Applaud your motives but think you need to step back get to know the birds you have and bring them on. Research more and yes please do donate if you can to the rescues out there. You can always give your time as well if there is one that you are near? No knocking just trying to be sensible for your sake OK?

Re: Galah Cockatoo

Guys I’m sorry if I have offended anyone, I’m not in a rush to get another bird at all, and I’m not trying to save the world, and its looks like I will not get a 3rd parrot most likely, I’m just saying that if I will come across a Galah that need a good home, I will happily adopt/buy it, one thing I know for sure is that both of my parrots now are having a better life, I’m the 3rd owner of my African gray, and the last owner had him for about 8 months and never took him out of his cage, 4 African grays in his bed room in cages never takes them out, and the Sun as well was not held for a long time, both are getting much better food, living space and a lot of attention
Good news is so far PBFD on the sun came out negative the rest of the results I’ll get tomorrow.

Re: Galah Cockatoo

No I do not think that you have offended anyone but we all come out strong for the parrot(s). All we ask is that common sense prevails, birds take up so much time and just to get another for it to just sit in a cage is plain daft.

One thing with my RB2 is he is a jealous monster and does not like sharing. Thanks for coming back to us. Looking forward to more pics and info of your flock in time ok?

Re: Galah Cockatoo

yes no offense has been taken. quite the opposite in fact. I find it admirable that you have that drive in you to help, but sometimes the best intentions end in disaster.

like Plumsmum said we get very emotional over birds, especially knowing conditions some get kept in and what some owners decide to do to their birds.

Good to hear you're going to hold off for now. I would say it's better if you see a bird in a bad situation to inform the owner of any rescues. They will take the bird for no charge and make sure they're okay, and in some places it's illegal to keep them in bad situations and by law the owner is forced to give them up.

You wait until that Sun finds his voice and gets hormonal! That'll be a fun time for everyone down your street!
