Finally! Jasper normally gives me a tail flare, cresty look and a hiss. Every time, anytime, always, multiple times a day since February when he came home. He's been running around more with his new cage with its play top and acting much more cockatoo like. Today I was eating tortillas with melted cheese, not great parrot food. He looked interested so I put a piece out and he took it from me! He only nibbled for a minute but ...I still can't believe it! It made me teary.

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
Celebrate! We never know the extent of "baggage" that affects a parrot in a new home. Hopefully this tiny victory will boost his confidence and accelerate progress!
