Each cockatoo is as different as, say, Ohioans are from one another... but, it does seem as if you have a real talker! How exciting! It will be fun to see what happens!
We'd LOVE some photos or videos!
Welcome. I'm glad you and Marshmallow are here.

Goofy (YNA), Oscar (Goffin 'too). Foster bird Betty (RLA). RIP Cookie, 1991-2016 ('tiel), Leo (Sengal), Charlotte (scarlet macaw). Grand-birds: Liam (budgie), Donovan (lovebird), RIP Angelo (budgie)
Goffins aren't generally good talkers. Many, however, do learn one or two words. I've never heard of one having more than a handful of words though.

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
None of mine have learned more than about 3 words.

Birds of many talents and lovable, but talking is not a strong suit.

My dads goffin has a very limited range of noises, most of them of the variety that makes you want to jam screwdrivers into your ears to make it stop. Cockatoos are not known to be good talkers in general, though I bet some individuals can lear a little vocabulary:)

Now if you ever needed an avian associate for committing crimes with, a goffin would be excellent at that. My dads G2 can pick any lock (even combination or a padlock if you foolishly leave the key in it) and could probably even learn to hotwire a car. If the cops caught him, you know he wouldn't talk:p He'd be a criminal for sure if he were a human!

I have one Umbrella, a Bare Eye, and two budgies.
The little ones like goffins and bare eyes actually talk better than the big ones.

Amy a Blue Front 'Zon
Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
Jonesy,my Goffin, was a talker when I adopted him. His favorite phrase was...well...I can't even print what he said
He also said " I'm a good cockatoo man" and hello. ( I have a you tube vid somewhere of him saying "cocka man" ( for whatever reason he shortened it) and also a vid of him saying what I can't print here

His biggest thing tho was screaming at the top of his air sac from dawn til long after bed time, and he was superb on drawing copious amounts of BLOOD! Mostly MINE!
