Rocky loves to let himself out of his cage, which is why I rigged up a lock for it so he has to stay in it in the mornings until Mama has had her coffee. LOL But he loves fiddling with his latches so much that Hubby suggested foraging toys might be good for him. I went online shopping and ordered a couple, but I thought I would also ask here if anyone with a U2 can recommend favorite toys of their birds which Rocky might like.

Cockatoos are exceptionally smart in regards to solving puzzles. I'd say as long as the toys are fairly complex, they should be good for keeping him occupied for a while. Look for toys that would take some time to extract the treat from even if the bird understands how to solve the puzzle. "Rings of fortune" is a good one and another one is the "Zig zag" maze one. Both take time to get the treat(s), even for a bird who understands the objective.

I bought two puzzle toys and presented them to him and his crest came up and he looked at them and has ignored them ever since. He'd rather play with an empty box or destroy junk mail. On the one hand, at least he's a cheap date. On the other hand, I just paid $25 for toys he won't play with. I guess I could offer them to the other birds.
