Rocky has a built-in perch on our enclosed porch where he sits and watches wild birds. We have to ferry him out there because he doesn't fly and then we have to sit with him because he screams if we don't.

So we were out there on Sunday and he was hanging upside down from his perch, which he likes to do to make us laugh, and Hubby was sticking his boot up there for Rocky to try to grab, and didn't realize Rocky had grabbed it, and brought his foot down and Rocky with it. Rocky landed with a thump on the porch floor, gave his daddy a nasty look and ran straight to Mama. He wasn't hurt except for his pride, and Daddy apologized profusely and we both looked him over to be sure he was okay, and Rocky got lots and lots of "poor baby" and attention and kisses and hugs, which of course he ATE UP.

It was awfully cute the way he ran straight to me. If he could talk plain, he'd have been saying, MAMA! Daddy made me fall down!!!!

Whew!

It is so precious when they trust us with rescues.

Just a note from the Queen of Paranoia... please keep a close eye on him for a few days... some trauma conditions, especially concussions, can develop critical mass over a few days' time.

What a cutie!

I'm watching him, but so far he's been completely normal for him. He insisted on helping me eat my dinner that night and last night as usual. He objected when I went to work yesterday and today. He didn't want to go to bed. All perfectly normal. LOL

He can't fly, but he can flap and when he wants to, can glide to a landing. If he hadn't been playing Bat Bird, he'd have done that and not landed with such a thud. But he's fine. If he'd actually hurt himself, it would have shown up by now.

Rio (Yellow sided conure) sadly no longer with us
shouldn't laugh but gawd that's funny! I just picture the flop followed by the look of "Wait a second... I wasn't here a second ago... MOTHER HELP!"

He's not the most graceful bird in the house, for sure. LOL He gets it from me. I was moving a toy the other day and forgot the ceiling fan was above me and it smacked me in the hand and now I have a nice bruise. (No worries about the birds; that fan is on the enclosed porch and is only on when we're out there with Rocky. The other birds don't go on the porch).
