Hi all, I was wondering how and what you feed your parrots....
I started experimenting with Bianca and so far understood that she likes most fruit, oatmeal, pasta and carrots. Didn’t care for yogurt and celery.

Also, do you leave food available for them 24/7 or do they only get food at meal times?
Thank you!

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
A staple of their diets is fresh vegetables and fruits aka "chop" given in the morning until either late afternoon or early evening depending on temperature. They are given more than they "need" and many birds ignore select items, tossing them overboard. Sometimes, after many years, they will try and like a familiar food.

The rest of the time they are freely fed Harrison's Course Lifetime. Various treats are given several days per week.

Oatmeal is a favorite with most of mine. Vegetables have priority over fruits as the latter has much natural sugar. Spiral pasta noodles are beloved, but not the typical refined flour variety. They enjoy either whole wheat or a mixture of whole grains and vegetable.

I do pretty much what Scott does.

Here's a link for Harrison's. I feed High Potency, which they (and my avian vet) recommend for certain species.
