We were sitting on the couch and she was on my lap. I gave her a neck rub and when I put my hand down she stuck her beak underneath it, asking for more. How sweeeeet! She had never done that before. She’s a sweet sweet bird :)

Umbrella Cockatoo- 15? years old..I think?
Cute! If she starts lightly "shivering" or gets a bit of an eye twitch, change the subject, because it can get sexual for cockatoos easily lol.

LOL I thought that too at one point! I’m going to stick to top-of-the-head rubs just in case

My has never has egg laying tendencies or anything, but sometimes she gets a little too much of a kick out of head-rubs even lol. I still rub her head, but if she starts that shiver/twitch thing, I am like, "OH SQUIRREL! FUN TOYS! LETS SEE WHAT'S ON YOUR PERCH!" haha.

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
Some of my well-handled toos do the "shiver" autonomously. I don't generally touch them when in effect!
