I’ll try and post a picture. Bianca has a feather that hasn’t grown into a feather on her crest... Is this normal?

Umbrella Cockatoo- 15? years old..I think?
a pin feather---if she lets you, squeeze the white part with your nail and it will flake off. They can be sensitive, so feel your bird out on it. If they scream, just let go (it's a warning lol). Mine loves to have hers preened because they itch and wild flock mates would do it for them in places they can't reach.

I'm surprised she hasn't had them before---no worries :)--Don't help preen any of them that she can reach on her own-Just the ones on her head etc.
Just sprouting a new feather.
The pink base is the active blood supply, so that will gradually recede, but as long as you don't mess with the pink part, you will be fine.
Just saw parrotgenie already answered lol

My Kaya LOVES to have the casings pinched off for her! Every now and then I get a sensitive spot, but she lets me know.

The sheath comes off fairly easily when it's ready, so it shouldn't take any effort. Don't bother the blood part, and you'll be able to see it very easily on a 'too. Just take off the end and the rest will come off on its own eventually.
