The infamous feather duster

So, I bought a genuine ostrich feather duster for Bianca to preen.... of course she’s frightened by it [emoji23]

How can I convince her that it’s not alive?

Leave it lying around for a while, within sight but several feet away. After a couple of days, move t a bit closer and leave it lying around there for a a few days. Repeat until you can set it next to her.

i could be completely wrong about this, but it's what i always think when i see bird toys with feathers - is it wise to encourage birds to play with and chew on feathers? it's not exactly cannibalistic, but there's something about it that makes me feel edgy.
