Last night Rocky was grouchy and squawky. Lunged a couple of times. Chomped a couple of times hard enough to leave bruises. I finally decided he'd better go to bed before he really got unruly, but too late. I stood up to put him to bed and he chomped me so badly that I bled all over the house by the time I got him stuffed in his cage and got to the bathroom to try to staunch the gore. Today my hand is swollen and so sore I'm having trouble using it. I don't even know what set him off.

Did you show anger, or fear? Cockatoo are very good at picking that up and will get temperamental and angry very quickly and react?

He already had his hormone stuff in April. Almost the entire MONTH. That was not fun. He's fine now. Maybe he was just in a really bad mood. My hand is better every day and I might even be able to play drums by band practice on Wednesday. I can already play the guitar and even the mandolin, but those don't require banging on things, which still hurts. I was keeping time on the back of a pew at church yesterday morning and discovered that banging on things is not a good idea just yet.

I play eight instruments. Not all at once. And not all competently. I can play four competently enough to perform on. We have a country/rock band and I also play in the band at church.
