Would like to thank you all for your help and info provided to me in the previous subject about the rose breasted cockatoo.

Umbrella Cockatoo- 15? years old..I think?
Don't you already have one? I thought you recently acquired one.
I hope you will keep it either way....
Whether or not is ever talks..

I know you are just asking a question, but you have asked a lot of questions about talking etc and it makes me worry so I am just going to put this out there: If your bird potentially never talking is a deal-breaker, then I would say get rid of it before it bonds to you because that will be less trauma for the bird...I hate when people give up their birds, as it harms the animal (there will be harm at this point either way--but less).
Will you be okay with keeping your bird for 30+ years if it doesn't ever talk? They bond deeply, so the longer you wait to decide if you are content, the worse it is on the bird.

If you would hate to have a bird that doesn't talk, find an alternative placement for yours and don't get another parrot....because none are sure to talk (even though they can).
If talking is your main concern, that's not the best priority...and maybe I am misreading the situation, so I apologize if that is the case.

Thank you for ur message Noodles, and yes you have missed the loint he
Thank you for your message Noodles and you have missed the point!
I do ask a lot of questions to know and to learn! I know if i am after talkative parrots i would have a casco or amazon... but. Prefer the Ghala as they are funny and give and add positive atmosphere to the house, I deal with birds : small one especially the Goldfinches over almost 35 years and i am a breeder since ages. But thought to add a parrot to my place.
I here to learn from experienced ppl who are dealing and lovin those birds

Thank you noodles for addressing the elephant in the room!

The overwhelming priority is the health, happiness, positive physical and mental stimulation of our feathered charges. Let’s not forget parrots possess the intellect and all the emotions of a 3 or 4 year old child, yet too often these highly intelligent creatures lead miserable lives locked in tiny cages with the barest minimum of care solely because some person thinks it would be great to have a pretty pet that can mimic human speech. This may of course open up debate about whether we should be keeping these magnificent creatures in our homes at all - that may be a discussion for another time. Since the pet trade in birds does exist then it is our duty to provide the best possible environment for any bird we bring into our homes, regardless of size or species or ability (or inability) to talk. We owe them at least that much.

Have you had parrots before? Cockatoos are among the hardest parrots to care for. If you have never had a parrot, I would not get a cockatoo first..BUT, all parrots are like adopting kids, so if you wouldn't want a flying toddler right now (one that never grows up but requires the same level of mental stimulation) do not get a parrot.

Guys, plz take it easy! Why everybody is trying to give a moral lecture about the birds and how we should take of them as if that you are the only one who loves and live with birds/ parrots!!
Yes i do have birds at my house and i do breed them, as for parrots i had a ghala and lived with us for almost 6 years and had to let go due for relocation and couldnt take him with me!
I had asked a question to know and learn something new and some knowledge thats all! I guess this is the aim of this page!
If yiu dont know the person and you just misjudge his questions then i feel that i am in wrong page!

One of mine talks, when he wants to. One talks but nobody can understand anything he says. One just whistles. Three different species. Whether a bird talks is up to the bird, and it isn't necessarily tied to the bird's species or sex. My budgie (RIP) was probably the best talker of them all, really.

Imad my post was not meant to single you out or offend you and I apologise if it did. You have however made quite a number of posts here and on another thread that appeared to place great importance on whether your galah would ever learn to talk, giving the impression that talking was the priority. Galahs can and do talk and will continue to pick up new words throughout their whole lives, even more so if they are happy and healthy and well cared for. On the other hand some will never utter a word regardless of how well looked after they are!

Even in these “enlightened” times there are still some people who have very old fashioned views about animal care. Here in our little corner of the internet we welcome bird lovers from all over the world and place great importance on improving the lives of captive birds in our care. That will always be overriding priority here and it’s good to know that it’s yours too.
