Down with the perch

Got up the other morning and found one of Rocky's perches on the floor of his cage. He had unscrewed it. It has a wing nut on one side and a bracket that holds it onto the bars. He only unscrewed the wing nut enough for it to fall off. Then he had the nerve to sit there and look at it and look at me like, "Well? Aren't you going to fix it?"

Well of course! Why didn't you know in advance he was asking for adjustment to his perch?! :D Rocky is probably like "Gee, good servant help is hard to find!"

Did you re-attach and see this again?

Of course I fixed it. LOL While he watched closely to be sure I did it correctly. He has, over the years, broken off a couple of bars of his cage, and one of the gaps is next to his food dish, so there's a big enough gap for him to stick his head through and that's how he reached the wing nut on the outside of the cage to unscrew the thing. He's opened his food dish door and dumped his food in the past, so it's secured with a clip now. At least he knows better than to stand on the perch when he unscrews it.

2 umbrella Cockatoos One male named Cooper and female named Baby 1 Little Corella male named Frankie and have 5 Cockatiels three named Male named Pepper, Fiesco for the female and female named Wylie.
At least your only unscrews them. My male U2 Cooper has a bad habit of destroying them. I ended up having to make them out of much harder wood, so can't chew through them as quickly. As I would put the regular Parrot Wizard Geo NU that were $24 bucks a pop and he would chew through them in under a couple of days in the early morning time.

After Cooper destroys the expensive Parrot Wizard Geo NU, pretty much what left.

New wood used that lasted. I had to custom make the perches as you can't buy them this strong.

Wow. LOL Rocky's perch is a scratchy perch, and he sleeps on it even though he has a regular perch, too. I tried giving him a different perch in that spot and he wasn't having it, so I gave the scratchy one back to him. He spends most of his time out of his cage, anyway.
