I brought tiger home in April, he was harness trained right away. Due to his beak injury, every month tiger gets his beak trimmed. Every month I put him in a carrier and bring him to the vet. Today was different. Today I put the harness on and we walked around the yard and Got in the car and went to the store for bird food. The car ride was difficult. I have a sun roof on my newest ride and tiger couldn’t get over seeing all the clouds and trees also the noise of traffic was a bit hard for him but he clung to momma and everything turned out ok. I also ran into a rep for Higgins and she is meeting me next week to give me bird food super excited to be a part of that.

WOW good for you! Harness training can be a big issue with some parrots. I wish more people stuck with it, but it can be daunting. Sadly, I was on a xoom meeting of a parrot society recently and when I asked "Who has harness trained their parrots" I was the only member who had.

Does you car have a sun shield for the sun roof? That might take the edge off his worries.
I know my little Amaon, Salty, hates being in the car at night - the lights frighten him so. When I know we will be in the car at nite, I usually cover him or put the interior light on.

My GCC clark also has a slight jaw mis-alignment. I usually trim it myself and she acknowledges what I'm doing and I think appreciates it, she doesn't fuss. Every 6 months the vet does it as well.

It's a manageable issue, most people can't even tell. It's only a little off though.
