Earlier today, my son Sean, was showing us his new car. I took Mishka down with me, for a little outing. The car is absolutely beautiful, a Seat Ibeza.
We were admiring the car, making comments etc, Mishka sat quietly, just observing everything. I told Sean a few times I love your car, wishing him the best and safe driving.
Going back into the apartment, I went to shower, while Mishka was eating his dinner. When walking back into the lounge, Mishka called me
Mommy mommy, I walked toward him, and said yes, he said to me, Mommy I LOVE SEAN'S CAR then added on Steven went in Sean's car hey mommy

Mishka is learning to mix and match words together at an alarming rate, hearing some words once, he begins to say them. Then I spend the next few days teaching him what the word means. He knows they both drives cars, and often says I want to clean Sean/Steven's car, or Mommy I want a car

It just proves how they listen to everything we say, and are capable of learning the words and how to use words in the proper context.

My aunt had an African Grey for 30 + years and he could imitate the alarm code for the house, doing the beeps perfectly. He would also imitate the cats asking to go out or be let in then would laugh when someone came over & opened the door to discover they had been fooled by the bird.

That great to hear, is the bird still alive? I love it when they imitate beautiful sounds, that is amazing
Imagine Mishka in 27 years time.................

I am convinced some greys talk better than others. Even when they are in the same household. My firiend has 2 /CAGS and one will say the words you say just after a few times of hearing them. The other one is much slower. My Rosie is an excellent at whistling but slow on picking up words.

you should get him a little remote control truck that he can sit it and you can drive it around! :) I've seen people do it and their birds just love it :) (once they get used to it that is!)

I agree some greys are quicker to pick up words quicker than others. Basically like a human child, where you get the lazy learner. Some birds take forever to learn to talk. Remember a comment I made a few weeks ago, where my friends AG only started talking at the age of 16 years old. Barbara started used my method of using the cd's, just over a year ago, today her bird says over almost 100 words.

I videoed Mishka earlier this morning telling me what he thinks about Sean's car. It is hilarious how he repeats and repeats it over and over again. I love the way how he emphasizes the word love.

I have posted the video in this section, because it relates to the topic.
