We have a 13 yr old CAG which has had 2 owners prior to us. She aparently had ricketts as a baby and has slightly deformed feet, so she doesn't get a cage... she gets the house. Mainly she spends her days beside us in our study on a small table, or if she's feeling snobbish, she'll move down to the kitchen/dining and spends her time in her cupboard or under her table.
She loves hubby and the head rubs he is allowed to give her. She likes the head rubs I give her, but I'm not often allowed. This is the only touching she tolerates from us. If we want to move her, we have a special ladder that she'll step onto (if it suits her) and we can move her that way.
Anyway, the price of CAG's here in NZ has dropped significantly (by about $2,000) and so the idea of getting another grey has moved from 'pipe-dream' status to a possibility.
What I'm worried about is jealousy from our existing girl... I would hope the new bird would bond more with me, but of course there are no guarantees.
If anyone has experience with introducing a second CAG to their family, I would love to hear about your experiences.
Thanks.
