Ok so a lady sent me a message regarding a grey and an amazon for adoption. Now I am pretty sure but I could be wrong. should these two not be housed together.

They are a bonded pair... so I am a little confused. I guess its ok that they are housed together.

Well, for starters, I personally don't believe any non-breeding pairs should be housed together. Ever. There are way too many risks involved; a squabble gets out of hand and someone ends up injured, or even dead, is the biggest concern. I believe every captive bird not a part of a breeding pair, should have their own cage.

Size-wise, they are roughly the same, so in that regard, I guess they're "fine". It's not like an M2 with a GCC or such.

They are beautiful! If bonded do not separate. Give them time to adjust. Being in a new home may bring out new behaviors and you can always separate down the road. Right now they really need each other.

They are adorable :)

They look like the best of Friends :) I agree, dont separate them yet, just give them time to adjust to a new home first... thats if you decide to adopt them :)

Are you thinking about it?

Are they locked in a cage together? Our two aren't, so the lesser one could always get away from an attack. If we take one out of the room, the other usually starts crying..

Oh man am I thinking about... those are my dream Fids... I love the Grey's so much. And the Amazon.... What a Character! I hastily accepted the conures since I wanted to get my fids back. As soon as that happened. BAM these two came in.

I was worried more of the dust off the grey for the Amazons respiratory system. But if the health issues are not there then that helps.

I also just adopted two Nanday conures that my mom has fallen in love with and they seem to like her. While I am at work she is at my house with them. So she may be taking them home.

I think the only time they are together in there is at night. The lady said that they are always on the move together. When one leaves the room they other wants to go too.
