Next Sunday I will be bringing my little girl Ava home :)

We have her cage all set up and Im just so excited!

I read online that they like to eat warm oatmeal...it soothes them. Do you think it would be a good idea to make her a little bit of oatmeal the first day home?

I also was wondering if anyone knows of any websites for bird supplies or catalogs that can be sent to my address?

Congrats ! I'm sure this week will be the longest for you . getting down to that last week is so exciting.
I fed mine warm oatmeal when I got him home and still do actually , he loves it . be sure and do not use the instant kind ( it's to glue like)
My safe bird store is a great place to get supplies and also Drs. Foster and smith and pet solutions too
Be sure and post pics when you get her home and settled : )

Ok Im glad I asked about the oatmeal, Im going to go buy the real kind before she comes home. Im so excited!

Its making it so much harder though because her cage has her perches and toys in it....but not my little princess :(

She will be 15 weeks old when I bring her home :) I can't wait until she starts trying to talk, she isnt very cuddly and I know African Greys aren't known to be....but i hope I can make an exception :)

I would check to see what they were giving her at the place where you are getting her from and try to stay with that food regimen for a few days to make her less stressed with being uprooted. But yes, both my Ekkie and Senegal LOVE warm oatmeal with a few raisens and a drizzle of honey. Uuuuuummmmmm good.

I recently got a drsfostersmith catalog but I'm not sure how or why..maybe because I subscribed to Bird Talk I'm thinking. Lots of good stuff in there but def check out My Safe Bird Store. She's a supporting vendor here and has the best customer service, fast shipping and great prices.

Congrats on bringing your baby home soon!
