Sept. issue of Bird Talk magazine has an interesting article on greys.
The author is saying there are 7 behaviors unique to this species:

Nail Chewing

Vocalizations and talking

The chicken scratch

The grey growl

Cautiousness

Blushing

Their playtime behavior (love to hang upside down)

Blood Tears

The author puts some information under each topic to explain. My Rosie has done every one of them except blood tears and I hope she never does on that one.

That sounds interesting , can't wait to read it.
Did not know about blood tears ....I think that would totally freak me out if Cosmo did that

That is an interesting article.

A CAG I used to visit in a local pet store would blush when I scratched his head. I'd read about Greys blushing before, but hadn't actually seen it happen until then. :)

The vet first showed me the blushing while she was doing an exam on my bird. If wrapped in a towel the blook pressure can go up and the entire area around the eye turns red. If it goes on for a while that is when the red tears start. It is scary to see.
