No , not to early at all . My cosmo does not like to go in the shower , but I mist him with a water bottle while he bathes in a bowl of water and he loves it .

My Cosmo has loved going in the shower every chance he could get since we got him at 6 months old. Perhaps do not put him directly under the stream of water but take it slow. With Cosmo I would hold him close to me and just let the water spatter barely hit him and just worked on getting him closer and closer. Now he will just sit under the stream of water and enjoy it.
