Am I in trouble?

..is probably what Jasper was thinking today. Maybe he thought I was made at him for leaving the house as the sun was coming up and not getting back until after dark. For the first time since I've had him he's been left alone all day because I had to go to work, I finally got a job.

He *seemed* to handle it ok, reports from one of my housemates says they were in here chatting a couple times during the day. I let him out straight away when I got home. He seemed ok and forgiving, I'm glad I have been keeping him in his cage more to get him used to it when it finally happened.

He didn't want to go to bed though, he must have taken a nap or two in the quiet room.

Congrats with your new job, happy for you
Nope you are not in trouble
Birds adapt much quicker than what we think
At least Jasper did not attack or bite you when returning home
Awwww he did not want to go to bed, wants to spend time with you

I had Mishka with me 24/7 for 4 years, when working from home
Never had a problem leaving him alone for 9 hours while at work.
He has many stimulating toys to keep him occupied
I leave a cd with recording on, that keeps him entertained for hours and hours.

Well good to hear that he took it well. I started learning for master degree this year, so had to leave my AG from 7 am till 8 pm and was afraid that it would damage our bond. But it went ok. As long as we leave them enough toy I think they are all right. How is your new job going?

Yesterday was my first full day aside from 4 hours orientation the day before. It's going to be challenging but alot of fun I think. I'm going to be on first shift for training for the time being, no idea how long yet. When they do start up a second shift I will be in charge of it. They do work overtime so it will be nice to have that available to me once again, it's been a very long time since I could make extra that way.

Antionette I totally agree about the keeping busy thing. Mysafebirdstore is having a special right now so he has 4 more foraging toys coming.

I guess his new thing will be learning "have to go to work". Tico already says "bye bye" to me but he does that even if I am taking my shoes *off*. :32:
