So Escher and I are making progress. He's not too into pellets yet but it's only been 2 days. I think part of it is he has trouble holding the pellets and keeping his balance. See Escher is missing some claws, two on his left foot and one on his right. One of the birds at his previous home pulled them out so Escher has a balance problem. He keeps trying to stand on his left foot but is figuring out that he has better balance if he stands on his right.
Well with this in mind and realizing how much he loved the veggies I gave him yesterday, I made him some chop. I also chopped up pellets real fine and put it in the chop. He didn't want to eat out of his bowl. He ate the seed just fine yesterday but not the chop, so I decided to see if he would eat it off of my fingers and he did. I fed him like that for a couple of minutes with the bowl right under my fingers then held the bowl up to him and he ate out of the bowl. I placed the bowl in its holder and he ate out of it. I'm so excited.
He also wouldn't play with his toys but I understand its a new place and he needs to get used to us, but after he finished eating he started playing with one of his toys.
YAY!! Its much better progress than I expected after two days.
On another note he clearly said "step up" today.
