I just had a customer come into my store and saw my CAG Quincy. He said I should teach him to say "Help! Someone turned me into a parrot!" LOL! I have to admit, that would be a good one! :D

Hahaha! That is so funny! I am almost tempted to teach Kinji that, but I don't want to teach him to say words just for the heck of it with no meaning behind them.

When my TAG Spirit does talk. There is something up. A couple months ago he got right in my face and said "Step up Ouch!" Then held up his foot where I saw he had cut himself some how on his leg. These guys are scary smart.

Copper - It is better all in all to teach them things with meaning. I find that Quincy says what he wants to anyway. I can say certain things till I'm blue in the face and he still won't repeat it. Like Nite Nite. My theory is he just doesn't like going to bed. LOL!

Shelly - Sounds like your TAG wants to save those words for when they are really needed. Pretty cool that she could verbally tell you that her foot was hurt!

My hubby tries to grab Neytiri's tail and says play bird butt. Well a few weeks ago she started saying it. I laugh ever time she does. Butch our crazy 'too laughs too.

Hubby also is trying to get her to say "I taste like chicken".

I took in an old YH Amazon that surprised me (one day after I got him) by saying, "Help! Help! Let me outta here!" He'd repeat it now & then. And seemed amused by our laughing at it.

Sassy - I love the "I taste like chicken". Too funny!

BillsBirds - Now all you need is a tin cup for her to knock against the cage. :D

Antionette - I love how Mishka adds on her own words. Amazing!

I think our CAG Zeus may be the same. He always shakes a hanging toy upon being placed in the sleeping cage. It looks like he's showing annoyance. If he wants out of his cage, or especially his sleeping cage he'll say "Hello-o", as in, "Come on and get me, already."

Our Senegal loves going to bed at night. He seems to need more rest than Zeus, and he gets just a little grumpy if he is kept awake too late.

They are so darn funny arent' they. Quincy settles into night night pretty good now. I guess he ought to after 13 years. But we do keep him on a pretty good routine and he likes routine. Maybe one day he will surprise me and say it! :)

They are just like having kids, emotions and all!
