Hello All :grey: I noticed a very small nick in the front part of my birds beak. I have no idea how it happened as there is nothing sharp she can get into. Mabye she is rubbing it too hard when she cleans it off. I saw a small wispy feather catch in it this morning. Should I be worried? Is this a reason for a vet trip? I do know cracks are not good and need to be filled in but I reallly do not want to call it a crack, it is more of a small nick.

Thanks SB

Usually this should not be a concern at all. Small nicks and chips are normal. It will grow out over time. If you do go to a vet or an experienced groomer they can sand/buff it down - this is nice to do occasionally especially for growing birds as their beaks can face a lot of wear and tear, but it usually is not a problem at all.
