Hello! So I know I'm supposed to g et different size perches for my Petri, but are there any that are too big or too small? I don't know what to get--any suggestions? Also, what kind of different materials should they be made of?

He's moved into his smaller cage for now--only sleeping in his tank at night. He's getting so big! And already a little mischievous :grey: started pressing up against the top of the tank and flapping his wings to try and push the top off when he saw me preparing his food. He's so confident too. He approaches everything new he encounters right away. I love my baby and spending time with him!

Measure your bird's thumb & forefinger...the two outside toes on each foot.....you want the measurement from talon to talon...the joint where the talons join the toes.....if that span is 1.5 inches, then the bare minimum perch diameter would be 3/4 inch to 1 inch, however, something larger, 2 inches or 3 inches might be more comfortable...natural branch/limb perches would be nice too.....

A pair of cockatiels
And pair of African Greys
I think if the bird is not able to fully close the feet on the perch, then it's size is ok.

I ordered a rope perch, a natural branch one, a swing and then a "pedi perch." I got all different sizes in each to see which he'll like the best.

Do you switch out perches a lot? Or is it mostly just toys you switch around
