I recently attended a Parrot Care Class and learned that if you are going into pet shops, bird fairs or any other environment where birds are you really should do the following: When you return home you should take off the clothes you were wearing and shoes and wash them with a disinfectent before entering anywhere the bird or birds are in your home.
Also if you buy any toys where other birds are to clean them off too before giving to your bird.

Im just so grateful I found this forum...dont know what I would of done without the people I have met and the advice I have been given...please keep us updated on what you learn at the talks - very informative.
