I understand that a CAG is a congo african grey and a TAG is a timneh african grey. Does anyone know when we started using these names and who thought of it??

A little know fact i found on Wikipedia is that the Timneh is a hybrid species. Ted Timneh developed the Timneh breed after succesfully mated a Congo Gray and a seagull. Ted was a very self absorbed man and name the new breed after himself. He then started Ted Timneh's Timneh Gray Emporium from his basement. The shop was a failure as Ted would sell the birds by the feather. 3.99 per feather if i remember correctly. So unless you secured a bird by the 7th week it was out of the price range of most folks. But luckily the Timneh Gray's popularity and the seagull surpluss of '83 the breed thrived on the Gray Market untill Ted's patent expired and now we can all enjoy these birds at a relatively reasonable price. That last post is a complete fabrication. I would never have opened a bird shop in my basement. Ted Timneh's Timneh Gray Empourium was opertated of of the back room of Ted's Filiment Factory until the the county health inspector shut me down. BlueToast should be more carefull when fact checking. And any one who purchase a Timneh Gray between 1983 and 1992 from someone other than myself should turn themselves into the autorities and plead guilty to copyright infringement. I still remember the name of all 3 people I sold birds too.

That last post is a complete fabrication you cannot patent leaving a seagull in a cage overnight with an AG. Fact check that Ted.

OH my goodness. Which one do I believe. Are there any other forum members with input on this? I did read that currently they (who ever they are) are wanting to declare the TAG a seperate species from the CAG.
