BEAUTIFUL bird!!!! Many congrats!! :D

Can't help you with African Greys though. I personally know nothing about them, other than that they can be amazing. :)

OH, and I know your AG is not a baby...the eye color is a dead give-a-way. ;)

Hi sorry I'm sure people will help soon I'm no expert but he is isn't a baby you can tell from his eyes as they have a lighter circle round the outside. Also I would add more perches at different levels you should look at getting like calcium or mineral perches that he will help keep his nails filed. Also you need toys although I wouldn't add to many at once as he will probly be frightened of them at first maybe some foraging toys.
As for training does he come to you yet? Can you hold him if not if just sit by the cage and speak or read to him. But if u can try offering him some treats like walnuts.
Hope this helps abit lol

Oh I just got the bit about trying to touch him sorry I would see how he responds to your hands slowly if he isn't scared by your hands then move them slowly towards him with a treat maybe and then just hold it still near him so he can learn it isn't a threat. But when he starts to get freaked out id stop and just hold your hand at that position untill he calms down.

What a pretty bird! I don't know enough about grays to even begin to guess an age, but I hope someone comes along soon who does:) Obviously, he needs some additional perches and toys, but I'm sure you already know that. I would imagine socializing him will be a very similar process to how you've been working with Rio- baby steps in building trust and letting him bond and learn at is own pace. Best of luck with him!

I think that will suffice for now. I might add a third perch and obviously, a few more toys as he settles in.

Your bird is beautiful and definitely not a baby
Very hard to guess the age.

You have a lovely big cage, it just needs a few adjustments.
You need more perches, on order for you bird to move around the cage and have different views.
If possible try place the food and water bowls at a lower level, giving the bird more space to play around in.

Your bird needs toys to keep him entertained and stimulated.

A swing would be ideal, as well as a few other toys.

Here are a few ideas that would cost you absolutely nothing.......

Cut up pieces of cardboard that they your bird can hold in his and demolish.
Tie a few plastic straws together, he will spend ages trying to untie them.
Wrap a nut or treat into a piece of paper, watch in amazement how quickly he unwraps it.
Tie many big buttons together running through a safe piece of string. Tie it to the top of the cage. Your bird will have hours of fun hanging into it.

Everything is new to your bird considering he has only been with you for two days. He needs time to adjust to all the new surrounding and all the new faces and voices.

Sit near the cage, and just talk to him, let him get used to you and your voice.
Leave the cage door open, but do not try take him out. When he feels confident enough he will come out.

Please do be very careful with the children near the bird, if he is scared he might attack and bite them. Rather let them interact with the bird only when he is in the cage in the begining.

We require a clear picture of your bird's eye to determine an age +-

This might assist you........

Examine the bird's eye color.
An African Grey parrot 6 months old or younger usually has dark gray or black eyes.
After the age of 6 months, their eyes steadily lighten, becoming light gray around the age of 1 year.
By 18 months to 2 years, the eye color becomes a very pale yellow brown, and by the age of 3 to 4, African Greys have light yellow eyes.
Once the eyes have turned yellow, it's harder to identify the bird's age.

Below is an example of how a cage should be set up
Spread the toys out evenly, giving your bird enough space to move around

Can you get a better pic of eyes so we can have a better guess as his age? and I'd still say u need more perches at different levels and maybe a few more toys
