Pineapple & Sunshine--Gray/wildtype male cockatiels
Thank you Antoinette, that was very helpful!

But now I'm scared. My sunshine has a small amount of yellow on his white feathers... and that's a sign of liver disease. I was scared stiff when I read that. I think it's time to go to the vet!!!! :(

See siggie :)
Don't go to the vet, ParrotQueen. Your tiel is probably a pied, am I right? They have varying amounts of yellow on their feathers. Even a small amount of yellow means pied.

Good information, thanks for sharing!

However, I want to caution the use of some bottled waters. Many of the more popular bottled waters are just ultra-filtered city water - Dasani, DejaBlue, etc. Some of the "natural" or "spring" waters have more heavy metals and unwanted chemicals in them than tap water, specifically, Fuji brand. Do your research and make sure the company is telling you everything.

I bought him as a wild-type gray, but I wasn't told about his lineage. I don't know who his mother or father were, all I was told is that they are the gray variety. Sunshine did come to me with a small band of cream-colored feathers halfway around his neck, He still has those feathers today. I think he could have had some pied in his family.

Alright, thanks Ratzy. I put them on a diet anyway, just to be safe.

I gave them scrambled eggwhites this morning instead of keeping the yolk. They didn't really like it, but they ate most of it. They still get plenty to eat anyway, with all their veggies.
