It's been a while. I know some of you have been wondering what the latest is.

Quinn thinks I'm her mate. I tried to explain that I just don't swing that way with this inter-species breeding thing but she doesn't really care. She tries to puke on me and every chance she has she's attempting to stick her tongue in my mouth. Seriously?! I don't know where that thing has been!

I let her wings grow out. Now that she can fly, she thinks she owns the house. Technically she does but I like to keep the illusion that I'm actually the one in control around here.

Videos to follow...

Her new game:

Let's make out, man!
[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HrkrHCxHHI"]I think she loves me - YouTube[/ame]

The background noise would be my 9 and 10 year old reliving their life as 2 year olds. School starts in T minus 8 days...

You do remember that I got Quinn for my daughter? She tolerates her but she's not handing over kisses or playing peek a boo with anyone but me!

Yes, of course I remember. HAHAHAHHA!!! How's your daughter taking it? Do you still have Blue?? How is she doing?

Glad to see you back, Gina!! I miss your posts! Loved the videos- Quinn's adorable!!

Quinn is a hoot! I love the way she 'struts' across the arm of the chair. She's convinced she can't walk without getting her head involved in the activity. Reminds me of these little quails we have in utah. They generate momentum by wagging their heads back and forth. I'm pretty sure the head bob is connected to a gear that makes their legs work. Unless they do that, they become statues.

I know Quails can fly. I've seen them do it. However, I'm convinced these are the laziest birds in the entire animal kingdom. They're also the dumbest birds.

My daughter and I have developed a theory. Ok. I admit. It's more my theory but one that I got my daughter to agree to so I'd appear slightly less insane.

Mornings are the worst. I live in the most bikingest (yes, I know that's not a word but work with me here!) neighborhood in all of Utah. Everywhere you look there's another dip**** on a mountain bike convinced that driving IN traffic is just ok and I should move out of his way. The quails are much the same way. they play in the streets like kids from the early 80's did. No kidding. Do you remember the games you played in the street like kickball? Yeah... they have some rendition of that. Only they're missing the lookout kid that yells "CAR!" so the cool kids don't get collected on the front of someone's Buick.

So just like the mountain bikers, the quails won't get out of the way when a car comes through. I never cared to pull feathers out of my radiator so I've always been a little cautious. And for some reason I've never been able to understand, they'll run as fast as their little legs can carry them and just barely miss your front tire. The whole concept seems like birdie russian roulette. I never understood it.

So my daughter and I are convinced this is some sort of game they play since they CAN fly. We keep looking up in the trees for an all quail judging panel holding up signs saying things like 7.8, 8.0, 7.7 that rate each birds brush with death. I've yet to confirm this is actually happening but there's really no other explanation.

I know. This has absolutely nothing to do with Quinn's 'strut'. It's been a long week. If anyone sees Friday, please send it my way. I've been trying to find it all morning.
