Moving my baby to a 'big boy' cage?

At what age did you put your grey in a 'big boy cage'? My grey, Axel, just turned 11 weeks and right now he is in a small cage that is less than 2 feet tall so he can't fall very far. He has perches and toys in his cage, but I want to move him to a bigger cage so he has more room to play. However, when I have put him in a 'big boy' cage he seems very very unsteady. He doesn't want to climb on the side of the cage and can't even figure out how to turn around on a perch. I just don't want him to take a nasty fall while I am not supervising him in the big cage, cause I know that greys are heavy birds prone to falling as babies. How much longer should I wait?

I think you should wait until he is more steady and doesn't fall as much. Once he can climb around in the small cage with confidence it may be time to up-size the cage :)

I agree with Mrs. Kay.

I've never had to deal with that, as I've never taken my babies home until they were past that stage. Good luck.
