NOW I HAVE THE OPPOSITE PROBLEM...

NOT ONLY DID I FIND MY CAG...

I FOUND A SECOND LOST CAG...

That bird was nearly starved. It ate a whole bowl of food. Now it is hanging out on my shoulder and refusing to go down. He's obviously been well loved.. Making up for lost time.

Ne's lost a lot of weight., and he's absolutely starved for human companionship... He refuses to go down.

I am so happy Tusk is home! I wonder if he'll tell you what he's been up to this past week while you were worried sick?

I have my fingers crossed the other CAG is Cookie so her owner can be reunited with her bird too! If not, I hope you do find who s/he belongs to. Friendly birds are well loved birds, and someone is heartbroken and looking for their baby. So, so lucky you found the bird before it starved! Even if you don't find the owner (which I'm sure you will), that bird will be eternally grateful to you for rescuing it. You MUST fill us in on the details of Tusk's recovery and how you found this second CAG!!!

Thanks for taking in the second CAG and I hope it's Cookie, or if someone else's it gets home to its flock soon. Talk about a lucky CAG, found the right bird man to help him out and get some TLC.

One bird showed up at the feeding station at the apartment complex... I was there picking up that one when I got a call from someone who saw my Craig's list ad.

The bird at the feeding station wasn't mine. The bird they callled on..

THE MINUTE I WALKED IN THE ROOM TUSK DID HIS HAPPY BIRD DANCE AND STARTED SINGING THE HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY SONG...

He is so happy to be home. He has this HUGE birdie smile...

My CAG, Lila and the new CAG are hanging out together right now, and have become instant 3 amigos...

He's obviously feeling safe and well fed for the first time in a long time....

I'm 3 hours from Houston.

Cookie's owner needs to do what I did..

Put up 100 flyers in the neighborhood. Go door to door in the area where he is likely to show up. Put an ad on craig's list and parrot 911, and walk the tree lines at first light when they vocalize...

This is the FIFTH time I've lost a parrot and gotten him back.

Shame it's too far away to be Cookie:( (I don't know anything about where things are in TX, just seemed like a pretty big coincidence). I think her owner is doing all those things already too, and hopefully finds her!

I think your recovery rate is the exception. I think your birds are an exception to the typical pet parrot. You let them hang out outside everyday. They are used to the sights, smells, sounds ext... They are well socialized, and would most likely go to a stranger. That's probably why you get your birds back. Most birds who have never been outdoors outside of a cage before are probably frightened in an totally unfamiliar environment with no survival skills at all and possibly unwilling to go to strangers even if there owner was right there... We ALL need to work a little more with our birds to ensure they are equipped with some basic skills and birdie common sense should the unspeakable happen. I know I had also neglected to clip Kiwi in a while and he had a few flight feathers that grew in after his molt. I clipped him as soon as I read your post.

I had this huge hole in my heart that is suddenly filled to capacity...

And it's amazing how the other birds are all hanging out with Tusk. The missing flock member is home, and I am not the only one in this house that loved or missed him....

The new bird is Tusk's bookend, with Lila in the middle... Three of them huddled together on a single open bird cage door with one foot up, and bird grins alll the way around...

I INTEND TO GET SH!TFACED TONIGHT... and just sit here watching them fall asleep. I kinnda need that right now...

Thank god Tusk is home. :D. I have being praying each night for him to be returned to you. Sounds like he is glad to be home too.

So glad you found the other little guy before the worst could happen to him. Hope you find the owner - they must be worried sick.

Wow! That is fantastic news, so happy to know you, Tusk, and the menagerie are reunited! Would be nice if the other missing Grey is from Katy TX.

The one I found was actually ematiated... if that bird hadn't found my feeding station it woould have celarly starved to death...

This bird was so weak that I was able to pick it up by the wings as a stranger, and it didn't even try to fight back. ONE FULL BOWL OF FOOD LATER it curled up flat on my neck for an extended, like 45 minute, head scratch, and resisted several attempts to set it down...

This bird was LOVED! He's car trained, he's bite pressure trained, and he's clearly a people bird... (He does the seat belt alarm when you get in the car.)

My KARMA is to give him and his owner the same sort of happy reunion I had...

Someone (besides me) loves this little bird...

In the meantime, it's clear he hasn't felt safe in awhile, and he clearly does at the moment. He's having that "I'm safe" meltdown...

SO IS TUSK!

I bet that bird is happy to be with a human and not on his own! When you find the owner, hopefully, since he's taken so well to you're birds he can visit every once in a while:)

And I cannot even imagine how happy Tusk is to be back with his flock! You should take some pics of the 3!
