I first got Espresso in the middle of November and she was skittish and completely unhandleable. Since then, she has learned to step up and has slowly gotten more and more comfortable. Just now, the most amazing thing happened: she turned into a cockatoo! She sat on the couch for a good 20 minutes and cuddled and let us pet her. I have NEVER met a grey so cuddly let alone one that was 100% unhandleable just a few months ago!! I am seriously in shock and awe. We managed to snag a couple of pictures and a video :D I am such a proud bird mom

How wonderful :D I'm not super familiar with Greys, but I can see you've really made a friend there!

Ahhhh the transition period of getting used to a new owner then bonding...nothing is more exciting when that happens...You just want to cuddle them all day long. My Grey is a cuddle bunny, yet independent as well.

First off, I love the name Espresso! Funny and an adorable name choice :p

And so joyful to hear how comfortable and snuggly he is after only a little over a month, what a difference! Thank you for the pictures and videos :D

Thank you all :p I never expected such drastic results!! I'm so glad she chose to come home with me!

It's the name she came with haha (she's about 20 years old) She is back to exactly 2 second head scratches now which is just fine by me. I'm just glad to know she is getting comfortable :grey:

That's so cool! Mickey and I just went through our little breakthrough a while ago. I've always heard that greys weren't as cuddly as other birds but there are a few that totally break that rule! Mickey is also very cuddly.

It was definitely a pleasant surprise! I was hanging out with one of the greys I work with (who definitely is not my biggest fan. but I made her sit on my knee anyway >D) yesterday and she made me appreciate my little cuddle bug even more LOL
