Is Roudybush the best pellet food? I'm sure if there are a lot of Roudybush users out there you'll get an argument, I've used it and don't perticularly care for it, in my opinion it crumbles apart to easily, if I put half a bowl of pellets out, I wind up with a quarter cup of pellet dust which at that point the birds won't eat, to me thats a lot waste......just my opinion, if there are any other roudybush users out there I'm sure they'll weigh in.

I use it for some birds. Yes, it does crumble but Christal is so particular....it boils down to taste for her....I have tried most of the avail stuff and she occaisionally eats this....along w/nuts and salad (sort of).....

Try reading the ingredients of a few different brands. I have found that there are a handful of brands with almost exactly the same ingredient list, save some cayenne here or alfalfa there. It is kind of interesting to compare the more expensive with the least and see that they are alot the same.

Try emailing the companies for samples. I got some harrison, lafeber, and roudybush samples to try out. So far they all seem to like harrisons the best. I still want to try some TOPs though, before we commit to one.

I don't think there is a"best" food. There are a handful of brands that make high quality foods any of which are a good base for a parrots diet. Roudybush is certainly one of these, but it's not the only one.

The bird's preference matters too. If your bird would rather eat nothing but sunflower seeds that's really not an option - but if your bird prefers Harrison's or Zupreeme to Roudybush go with the one they like. (Those are the three brands I'd put in the great quality category - I'm sure there are more, but these are the three I know).

Unfortunately so much opinion about pet foods are based purely on hype not on fact. As Rrrma said, check out the ingredients. Most of the good quality foods are quite similar.

My Rosie devours Harrisons pellets now. 2 vets suggested this food. It is expensive but it is also totallly orgainc. Pelleted foods should be kept in your refrigerator. K you come up with some interesting questions. This one is an example. You may get several different answers. It boils down to what you want your bird to eat and what your bird will eat and you can afford.

that's great you are researching diets, but remember that parakeets eat a lot of seeds naturally... so keep that in mind.

I use roundybush. Yeah they do turn to powder after the bird eats it. But If I give Peeps enough time he'll eat the powder.........

Hello! Kivi has been using Roudybush for a month since i got her off her only seed diet and she loves it!!! It was hard to get her used to it but it was worth it. The pellets do tend to crumb a lot but i think that is the reason why she loves it, she is a small quaker and it makes it easier for her to eat.
