I don't know how many of you are as attached to your grey or greys as I am. Lol. But I take my boys almost everywhere I go. I just wanted to share a little tip with others who may have greys that get nervous when they are out.

Lego.

Lego cures all with my boys. Seriously. I carry it in my purse as religiously as I carried crayons for my toddlers.

If I am out and one or both of my boys get nervous. I redirect them with Lego. Oh is that scary. Here. Have Lego. And the world is a happy place again.

For instance. I just had to take a rope toy away from Smokie that had become to frayed. It wasn't safe. But he was mad.

Obviously. This toy is a big danger. Well. Lego. Sorry I took your toy that you worked so hard to destroy. But. Here's some Lego.

Now. They have forgotten completely that I took their toy. And all is right with the world again.

No more pouting. I have happy boys. Lego fixes everything. Wing trim. Here. Have Lego. Vets? Here have Lego.

Seriously. It works. At least for my brats. I hope it helps at least one other person too.

FYI. I don't give them small Lego. It's the big kind.

Plus. If you don't have an orbit for your grey. Your missing out. My boys love their orbits.

My Dexter loves legos, too. We also use the larger size duplo blocks. I'm not sure he loves them as much as your guys, but it's certainly something he's very interested in exploring.

I have an 11 year old son who is also obsessed with legos. So, this has been a great bonding tool for them. I sent him off to find his old blocks from when he was younger, then I had him clean them and dry them and offer them to Dexter to play outside of his cage and it was a HUGE hit. Listening to my Aidan getting so excited and watching my Dexter jump right in and play was wonderful.

I was not sure the legos were strong enough to withstand the beak, but we are only using them supervised right now and have not even seen a crack in any block.

My boys shred them to tiny bits. Which is why they only have them attended. But they love that. And also. One of their favorite things is when my hubby drills a hole through a phone book and we hang it for them. They shred it in no time and it makes a huge mess. But. They have a blast doing it so it's worth the clean up time.

Your greys don't chew the ceiling???!! Espresso is fairly good about not eating walls or anything but that popcorn ceiling would be irresistible for her! She also loves Legos; here is a pic of her playing with her Legos:

Nope. Knock on wood. I've never had a problem with them going for the ceiling. Mouldings yes. And they like to eat the couch if I don't bust them. Blinds are never within reach either. They love to eat blinds.

Looks like I need to get some Legos for Cosmo. I have a hard time finding toys he likes.

Great tip! Thanks. I was planning on going to Good Will today to see what kind of toys I could get for my fids. Venus loves toys. Lately she and I have been playing peek a boo with a tissue. She likes things she can destroy too. Like my blinds.

My bad, bad parront didn't raise them as soon as the Diva was up!

See, now that's one of those things that is either the best thing ever, or they won't have anything to do with it ever...

NONE of my birds like atoms/orbits. I made two of them for them. Never touched them.

We had several down at the rescue, and they were one of those fought over perches... (Just not with mine.)

I'll have to try Legos with Tusk. See how he reacts. Never done that one... thanks!

Might try these for Baxter - thanks for the idea.

Question... You mentioned your guys get wing trims... Do you have to put them up on their orbits? And they stay there for how long? I got an orbit for Bacter but was wondering how he would like it since he is currently clipped.

No greatblue. My boys can get on and off their orbits as I hang them above their cage top. [emoji4] and they stay on the orbit as long as they choose. It's not uncommon to see them stay the majority of the day leaving and returning again.

I found Mega Blocks and Venus had to help me wash them, lol. She's been pushing them around on top of her cage. Thanks for the idea.

Lego huh? gee I never thought of that. I have seen a few YouTube video's of "Maxwell,The Umbie Too" with loads and loads of legos just having the time of his life.
I guess tomorrow I'll pay a visit to my local Wally-Mart or Toy's are US and get a couple for Amy and Jonesy..Thanks for sharing!!

Smokey loved to walk over to my book cases and chew on the binders of my WILD BIRD books Destroyed a couple binders

Maybe she was jealous of her wild cousins??
