So I think I have a pig on my hands. 40 grams of weight gain since monday. Is this normal for a 4 montha old to gain that fast?

40 grams in just a few days, that doesn't sound right :11: average weight for an adult CAG is between 400-650 grams, to gain up to 10% of adult body weight in just days would seem just about impossible, is whats going in comming out?

40 grams in a few days, sure does not sound correct.
Did you perhaps weigh him just after he had eaten?
Even then a change of weight by 40 grams is highly impossible, in a few days for such a young bird.
Did you perhaps change the diet, food pellets etc, anything new?

I was thinking, if your using an electronic gram scale you might want to check and see if its functioning properly, maybe try recalibrating it :)

Are you weighing every morning, before he eats breakfast? Weight should be taken around the same time everyday you weigh.
