I never would have imagined that a parrot being gone for two days would be such a bummer.

First time she's been away from home for 48 hours. I'm sure she's doing fine, but man is this house a dud without her.

Went on a short trip and now that I'm home I really miss her being around.

I don't have kids, I understand it's a similar but not comparable feeling but sheesh, I feel like I abandoned her.

Crazy how this bond between parrot and human becomes. IMO it is NOTHING like a bond between a person and a dog. I've owned dogs and NEVER felt so bummed when the dog was not around.

I've had to board Hahnzel before when we were painting the house and again when I went out of town. Our Avian vet has a texting service that sends you updates each day with pics. Makes a big difference.

She is home today, she was very happy to see me and return to her paradise. She actually likes car rides, but was really happy to get back into the house.

She's quiet right now, IMO a tad tired due to the bit of stress of the stay and getting handled by a few different people in the process.
