Bella's first day at home.

Eating a banana.

Once on my shoulder she does not want to get off. Most of her vocalizations come when I try to get her to step up onto my had from my shoulder.
Hopefully when she feels more relaxed it wont be a problem. I think she feels safe and secure riding on my shoulder.
she is taking a nap as I write this on top of her cage.
sure to be more updates.

Gorgeous. She looks like she was HATCHED on that shoulder... so at home.

I love that uniquely-Grey expression... like "... and your point is?"

She's a Grey, she has that Grey look on her face. And no surprise she likes the shoulder, mine did from day one as well.

Happy for you.

Tex...I LOVE Bellas' expression on her face as she eats her 'nana! WIDE EYED! Like she is thinking "YUMMMMMMM"! I am SOOO happy she found you! And her sitting on your shoulder, she looks very content and HAPPY! :D You did an awesome job in rescuing her,she is gonna be a happy/lucky birdie, since you came into her life.
Thanks from the bottom of my heart, for excepting "just one more",and to your "family member" who helped in making this all possible.

I can't wait for more pictures and loads of updates on her settling in,driving you crazy , talking back at you, getting into mischief, and just being your typical grey :)

NOW THE FUN BEGINS!! Oh...and BELLA is a sweet name too!

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
Congratulations to you and Bella! Looks like a sweet bird already feeling comfortable and at home. You know the relationship is going to be good when she is already eating!!

Bella was on my shoulder and started grooming me. Nibbling on my neck and around my ear. The next thing I know she was giving me what I guess would be called a dry willie, She stuck her tongue in my ear canal and was wiggling it around.
That was a strange feeling, guess she realy likes me LOL.

LOL, Salty does that once in awhile to my right ear ONLY. I always have to remind him that ears are not foot or beak holds, so maybe best to put a limit to that early, as you likely know already. It does feel very odd, I agree with you there!

Update.
This is the 2nd day Bella has been in her new home. The good side is.

She is vocalizing more.
She already started imitating me giving her kisses (ad at the same time to).
She makes a woo hoo noise and lots of beeps and klunks .
Only word I have heard is hello.
She is eating more.
I know the drill, when you first bring a bird into your home it takes time for them to eat/drink normally.
She most enjoys eating of the plate YOU are eating off of.
So far this behavior is only to me. My son ate the same thing and Bella was not interested.

The bad.
Still over-grooming.
Will see if the vet recommends something (sour apple, Alovera um cant spell that one).

Hope to have video to upload soon.

In just two short days,Bella has come in leaps and bounds,in what other parrots might take in months,or years!.

Tex...to me,it sounds like Ms Bella is either eager to please,or is VERY HAPPY with her new digs and parront,or its a combination of both! :D.
Either way, its a great beginning.
Now don't get too disappointed, if all of a sudden,Bella just stops progressing  It does happen (with Greys ) from time to time ( don't ask me how I know this) but it is short lived :D

More pictures and maybe a video????? :p

Thrilled to see the good outweigh the bad. Of course there will be challenges, but what a terrific start!!
