It looks like Bella is getting new clothes for Christmas.

This is the most new feathers I have seen on her chest since I brought her home. She has been playing with her toys also.
Bella is getting more independent and stubborn. If she does not want to come out of her cage noting but a bribe of goodies will get her on my had.
Hopefully she will keep improving with more TLC.

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
Despite her independence Bella seems more secure and less plucky! Sounds like a great tradeoff - but I don't have to live with her!! :D

Makes sense to me...she is discovering that she does have some control over her world, and so the anxiety is starting to lighten. I see nothing wrong with a bribe, something to get her to CHOOSE to come out of the cage because she wants to come out. Do you have time to let her come out on her own, in the morning? This is wonderful! You did a GOOD THING!

I have seen new feathers start to grow (pin feather state) and then plucked out right away.
The new feathers below her head on her chest are fully open. I know it's difficult to see the difference. I have to take photos every week and then compare them to how she looked at first.
It's the first sigh that the bad habit of plucking can be reversed. I just don't want to get to excited about it.
photobucket is down right now I will try to add a picture of how she looked before when it comes back up.

Oh, yes! Definite improvement! Sweet!

Working with a plucker can be so challenging, but it looks like you and Bella are making serious progress! Please keep the updates coming.
