I have seen My Bella doing this but never caught her on video before. Was trying out new camera and she felt like performing.
Video was a little dark and I brightened it up so it looks slightly washed out.
best I could do.

I call it wing pumping.

She has also started acting like a chicken on the bottom of her cage. Scratching at the newspapers with her feet like she is trying to uncover somthing.

Fly free Plum, my gorgeous boy.
She looks like she is giving those wings some exercise? Does she fly, think you have her clipped dont you? Clipped or not she will still need to exercise those parts of her body.

Usually Plum does the paper searching thing when he is looking for lost food. I'd say food or boredom at a guess. Does Bella get plenty of out of cage time?

She is gorgeous btw.

She was clipped when I got her but she has her air worthiness certificate now:cool:

We like giving our birds (Zons and Bella) slices of corn on the cob. When I noticed the scratching behavior she had thrown/dropped her corn to the floor. I think she may have been eating it down there.

It takes Bella on average 3 WEEKS before she starts playing with a toy. Once she start's playing it takes constant maintenance to keep it "in service".
one morning this weekend there was a huge crash from her cage
Bella had managed to untie the twine rope that kept the toy suspended.
It was not cut or chewed, it was untied.

Air worthiness, love it :)
Sounds like she is doing great and the paper thing is hunting for lost goodies, ie corn IMO. :)

Jonesy a Goffins 'Too who had to be rehomed :-(

And a Normal Grey Cockatiel named BB who came home with me on 5/20/2016.
Looks to me she is just "exercising" those arms Wes..maybe its her way to hint to you "C'mon Dad..let me so I can fllyyyyyyy" ;)

The scratching thing..I've read a few birdies do that, especially 'too's. My buddys U2 does it a lot..and Max on you tube is shown scratching/digging away too,

BTW...she has turned out so freaking beautiful! I can't thank you enough on rescuing her.
