Buzz Has A Second Foraging Toy, More Challenging

I also received a second foraging toy and it's taking Buzz more time with this one. I skewered a grape on the top and in the bubble placed some walnut pieces, and sunflower seeds. He's been working on this toy for over an hour now. Here is the toy.

I just got a similar toy for Bumble. It's a little frustrating having such a small bird sometimes (she's a Parrotlet), because even the small toys often seem gigantic. This "small" ball, for example, has a skewer on top that's as big around as my little finger. What am I supposed to skewer on that? A whole cantaloupe? It doesn't look like it will work for the strawberries or the banana slices or carrots I was hoping for. Hopefully shel enjoy the ball part and work to get her goodies out of it.

Is your's like the picture I shared? If not and the skewer is the width of your finger, skewering treats will never happen. The picture shows three carrot sliced on it, I got one grape on it. The ball is what has kept Buzz busy. I plan on putting sliced up pineapple and strawberries in the ball tomorrow.

It's very similar. The skewer is long - I could stack lots of things, but it's so wide that it if I tried to put a grape in it, there would be more hole than grape. The picture on the box honestly shows a whole mandarin orange skewered on it.

And I'm also ranting a little because that's probably the third thing I've ordered in the three weeks I've had her that was described as for small birds and they show up looking like maybe a small eagle would be a perfect fit! LOL

The holes too small for the poor birdies beak lol I use a similar approach for bella which is ALMOST impossible for her to get some stuff, she gets fustrated but it keeps her busy

These Foraging Toys quickly determines, which Parrots are willing to put the time into finessing them open and which Parrots are just not willing and trashes the devise in any number of cruel methods that commonly results in their quick demise! Jasper has that one too. It has a double screw on the top. I've found that if you don't get it screwed to both pieces in the middle, that happens.

We have a little set of plastic boxes, each with a different kind of door on it. Bacca used to be challenged by it but now when we load it, she just goes over and opens up all the doors and stands back. "There, happy? I'll eat the treats later."

We put papaya in that ball thing above. She goes crazy for it.

This is the one I use(Can-o-Nuts)
It's apparently bullet proof. Recently she has figured out the easiest way to solve it (tip it upside down) but then the treat is forever unreachable at the bottom of the cage below the bars lol

Clever boy Buzz, looks very pleased with himself doesn't he?

Plum was given one of these

. . . and I am forever trying to find the little clear pieces in the bottom of his cage. He mastered it too quickly by pulling the pieces out where they slot in, but hey it is some exercise and provides entertainment.
